typically 2800 miles is more than enough, but I've heard from more than one person the LS motors take a few extra miles

i have 60,000 plus and i am sitting at 160 across the board.

To many variables are involved a stock cam will show higher readings than a performance cam, if a stock cam is advanced it will show a higher reading,with a non-stock 383 as long as the readings are within 10% of each other and the motor is performing properly don't worry about it.
