Question Thermostats?

Two questions: 1) What isthe temperature rating on the stock t-stat on my 2002 2500HD 6.0? 2) What are the advantages of going to a cooler t-stat?

1. I believe it 195*.
2. Colder engine temp reduces the chances of detonation when you advance your timing through tuning.
