Mine runs 191 on the highway, as high as 199 in traffic. This is with the stock Tstat.

when ever you buy a new T-stat take it home and put it in some water on the stove with a candy thermomitor, and than you can see exactly when it starts to open and when it is fully open

Here's what I've learned from my experiments with 3 different stats while logging temps with a scan tool:

Stock stat and factory fan clutch: Consistent 195-197*, would go up to 203* after beating on it with 100* ambient temp and high humidity

Hypertech 180* stat and factory fan clutch: Inconsistent temps between 188*-197*, would usually run around 195ish. Still saw 203* temps under hard driving conditions.

SLP 160* stat with 34" radiator and 05 efans set at 180* on and 173* off: Consistent 176-178* temps. I never see over 180*.

My stock t-stat (6.0 motor) would sit at 192*-194* w/ a high of 203*
SLP 160* stat runs 174*-177* w/ a high of 201*
Factory gauges are not very accrate. I watch my temp very closely w/ my Areoforce scan gauges.

TUNE!!!!

Also, i don't know if i still have air in the system, but it seems to fluctuate, i mean on the freeway it's perfect like 179 - 180ish, i get at a stop light and it goes like almost up to 200 then will come back down.

I have had my 160 stat for at least a year now. Stock it would run up to 205ish fairly often.
The 160 will hold a temp of 179degrees and when i'm idleing at lights and what not it climbs to 190ish then goes back down.
I wanna say my fans come on at 185 or so. It's as low as you can set the Flex-A-Lite fans without having a harness into your pcm. So whatever that temp may be is what they kick on at.
I do notice that when i beat on the 6.0 compared to the 5.3 it will rise to 190 but never over that.

Okay just went out and added 2degrees of timing and no knock, so looks pretty good on the logs. I forgot to check my oil temp, i'll do that tomorrow for HitManX if ya want to know. I didn't want to add any more timing because it was starting to cool off and didn't want it too high for the higher temp, so tomorrow during mid day i'll check knock again and see about maybe adding another degree or so and also log oil temp. I don't have any scans from stock thermostat, but if someone has oil temp on a stock thermo and can post i'll post mine up tomorrow and we'll compare, should be interesting.
