I wana change the stock thermostat in my truck to a 160 degree on jegs there is 2 types one is the waterneck and t stat assembley and the other is just the t stat which one do i need?

 

Just the t-stat. If I remember correctly, 1999-2002 used the water neck and t-stat.

 

just the t- stat only 99-02 is the water neck and stat cause i have owned everybody style in a silverado except 07 and 99-02 is the only one to have the waterneck and stat which is stupid.. just go too ur local parts store and buy a mr. gasket universal t stat for like 7 8 bucks do just as good as the one from jegs

Pretty sure that the stat changed in 04...

My 05' was just the stat.

 

Yea, I checked on it, the 2003 had the housing as well. In 04, they made the switch.

 

I ordered This one for my 05'. Hope it works. The description is a little different than the one andrew got, but I guess i'll find out soon.

 

FYI..you can use the stat only if you have a spare empty gooseneck, you dont need to spend the $40 for a one piece.
