Question is there anything like a all purpose cam???

i m kind of interested in camming my 5.3, but, i don't want to kill low end, and i don't want something that only has a powerband above 4500. is there such a beast, what have you guys run, what works/what doesn't

I liked my 224/224. HP and Tq were within 5 of each other and I did not lose anything from 3000 to redline.

224 is too big to be considered an "all purpose" cam in a 5.3 IMO

i have had no luck finding a cam that makes power from 1000- 4000, any thing i found is like 3000 - 6500, yeah it will make truck faster, but doesn't that pull away from bottom powerband?

3K-6500?? what cams are you looking at? 23X/23X or what? I know the 212/218 is somewhere around 1400-5700..

And i think the TR220 has a good all around power range, 1500-6500..
