I was just wondering if there was a 150A or 200A Alternator for our trucks? If there is, will it just bolt-up with no problems? Also, would it have a negative effect on anything? Where could I find one and how much?
Thanks in Advance!

Yes there are. Alterstart@aol.com sells 'em...$250 I suppose. It's the larger case so you will need a longer belt.
Negative effects? Nope, only more amperage!

So, I couldn't use the belt that comes with the ASP Crank Pulley? Would a longer belt be needed with the 130A?
Thanks

Hit Man X: I e-mailed that address and here is what they said:
"We have a 200amp $249.99 plus S&H no longer belt needed but you will have to upgrade the recharge cable to 4 guage."
How much would that cost (Parts & Labor)?
Is it worth going through all this hassle? So, its a definite YES that I will have problems if I have a crank pulley and electric fans and don't upgrade my alternator?

Nope no new belt needed. They use the 105 amp case with beefy internals. I use mine with the ASP pulley. To get full affect out of it you will need to up your idle 100 rpm. That is if you use it with the ASP pulley. It already comes with a overdive pulley. You dont need a bigger gauge cable unless your using it to full capacity. i dont know if that is possible. 200 amps is alot. Anymore questions, PM me.

You can get 4awg cable for like $1/ft and make your own but still need a fuse/fusable link.
YES, it is worth the hassle. Low charge at idle sucks, your fans pull slower, A/C blows slower, headlights are dim, etc. I just upgraded my 130A on my F-150 to a 200A unit due to electric fans...
