Temp issue
#1
Today i was in traffic with the ac fulll blast and i had a check engine light pop and i noticed the temp was rising very slowly. I turned off the ac and pulled over and popped the hood and gave the once over and nada. Both e fans where running and with the ac off the temps went back down to normal. I got home pulled neg battery cable and let it sit. 20 mins later went back out to start it and drove it around with the ac off and normal temp and no code. anyone have anything like this happen to them?? I was thinking maybe t-stat or just that it got to hot sitting in traffic with the ac on. I bought a new t-stat just in case it acts up again. thanks guys in advance

I'm going to say that it's not the T-stat (it's never the T-stat)...t-stats generally are good or bad and are designed to fail in the open position. Maybe a blockage between the radiator and condensor (such as leaves and debris). The ac puts a big load on the engine, and summer's coming. I know it's been three weeks, but there still could be air trapped system from the cam swap also...
