Default tbss intakes

I've got long tubes and an ls6 cam in my 4.8. Is it worth it to swap out to a tbss intake for some extra power? Some people say stock truck intakes are good enough and others say they net 15-20. Anyone have any good reliable information on it?

There's a thread on here with dyno results . . . before and after. I'm pretty sure that it was 15-25 over the stock 3 bolt intake

You will lose power on the bottom end. A older stock 4.8L with a LS6 isn't making enough power to benefit from the TBSS intake.

Change the cam or add a converter. More gains there...

Save for something else. Besides best case scenario to swap to the TBSS manifold you will spend over $300.

That intake flowed well enough it was used by GM teams on mid engine Le Mans cars over the fast 92's. The TBSS intake was used clear up until the 102 came out.

It would be a good intake for a small cube motor you wanted to spin hard...
