Default TBSS intake with EGR?

Looking through pics of TBSS/NNBS intakes, it looks like some came with EGR ports and some without. Can anyone confirm that some came with EGR and some didn't? Or am I smoking something? I'd like to swap a TBSS intake onto my '01 5.3L, but would like one with an EGR port for smog purposes. I don't feel like swapping intakes for smog.

Here are a couple pics. Are these the same intake with and w/o EGR, or are they completely different intakes? NNBS vs TBSS? Not sure if there is a difference.

You are smoking crack. The circled parts are the evap and map. Changing intakes is a 15 min job after you have done it a couple times.

It's not my picture, I didn't put the circles on there. See the huge hole in the side of the intake right behind the TB flange.. sure looks like an EGR port to me.

The point of this thread is to see if there is something I'm missing. Is that an actual EGR port that I can use with my stock EGR system? What intakes specifically came with the EGR port? A handful of people have told me that these intakes never came with EGR ports, hence my concern.

The top link you posted is what most NNBS trucks come with. I think the 07 and maybe 08's got the bottom pic.

The bottom pic is what most TBSS had.

They never came equipped with EGR and the hole is blocked off. You could make it work by cutting open the hole and putting in a threaded insert for the mounting bolt.

I have one of the bottom intakes for my swap.

Here is one that has the blocked EGR port.

Ah, so the port has been molded into the manifold, it just needs to be cut open and a threaded insert put in. Doesn't sound too bad.

Thumbs up Good call, but remember to measure first to confirm

I've got an intake sitting here waiting to go on with that exact same question. If you don't get to it first, I will take a pair of calipers to the EGR fitting on the valve piping, and the port diameter of the "un-finished" EGR port on my intake and let you know what the dimensions are. Pretty sure just looking at it that it is going to work like has been said above.

Now where can we find those thread inserts for these plastic intakes?

Any results from this? Pics? Part numbers?
