I was looking at them as well, But after this think I will stay away.
I did a VR stack, the VR parts are real nice so I tried it, as did my buddy on his 5.3 we both noticed about.3 mpg more. I will dyno soon to see if it worked in my 6.0
I figured VR put it out, it must be ok, I'll find out.

I went from 15.35 to 15.1 with addition of motorvator spacer.I doubt if I would have purchased one, but I'm glad I installed the one given to me.
I did let it set in my tool box for a few months though, that might have tuned it.

sounds like a 4-barrel carb kicked in.

The majority of replies was how I was leaning but wanted some experienced info before I made a decision. I just purchased a set of LS1 fans off ebay and will use the $$ for a VSC. Thanks for the info guys!!

I agree with both sides. I did notice a slight MPG improvement, low end torque, and better throttle response. Does it justify the $100? I got mine for $60 and kept it on. Redadiction has a great idea for the nitrous plate, tho!

The Feburary 2004 issue of Off-Road Magazine put a few of the bolt-ons to the dyno. They were using a TBI small block (LM7 may not have same results) here is what they said: Airaid's TBI Spacer +9 HP, Airaid's Air Intake Tube and Filter +14 hp, Bosch Platinum +4 Plugs +4 hp, MSD Ignition Wires and Coil +8 hp, Magnaflow Exhaust (Cat Back) +22 hp, and finally Hypertech Power Programmer +11 hp. Now granted the early TBI's were starving for attention in the power department, at least some of these numbers are RWhp from a Dyno and not the seat of the pants feel (if I pay $250 for a intake, you can bet I will tell the wife it made the truck faster, even if it didn't at least until she can't remember me buying it). With the new '04s 5.3s kicking 295 hp off the lot, I don't expect that we are going to see giant improvements, but picking up 1 mpg might be worth a $40 investment over the long run. Just my thoughts

Yes, the TBI engines were definitely turds, and anything helps (although not to the numbers listed above). Those horsepower gains are all too high, but the products being used are probably all supplied by paying advertisers.
Believe me, countless hours go into an intake manifold design, and if a 1 inch aluminum spacer would add 10 horsepower or 1 MPG, GM would have made the manifold 1 inch longer!!
Same thing with spark plugs. If adding Bosch plugs adds 4 hp, then something was wrong with the plugs that were taken out.
It's the same old game; make parts that are real easy for the average guy to install, and then greatly exagerate the advertising. It sells parts.

I have one on my truck and it really is just a paperweight. The whistling is loud and you can hear it but thats all you gain and some find it annoying save your money.
