Question TB Spacers.......Are they worth it?

Been doing some research and can't find any definative proof that a TB spacer is worth the money. I understand the concept behind the spacer but does it really make a difference? Kind of like the TB bypass, I know it heats the air up as it passes through the TB to keep it from freezing up in cold weather, but being from SC I don't really have that problem. I suppose it would free up 1-2 hp....who knows?

Most people on here who have tried them say they are nothing more then a $100 paperweight! I also hear they make an unbearable whistling noise. I haven't tried one personally, but this has been discussed a bunch. Most people say save the money towards something more worthwhile, such as a programmer or custom computer tuning.

I noticed a little torque gain and a little mpg increase. I think the whistling noise is kinda cool, I can't count the number of times people have asked me if its supercharged. Look for one on ebay for a better deal. I know lots of people that have them just because of the whistle, there not that much and I found one a while ago on ebay for $15, go for it. its another mod on your list. I like it mainly because of the mpg increase, I do a lot of highway driving and need every mpg I can get.

i subscribe to a mag. called "my chevy truck magazine" and they did a couple dynos w/ the TB spacer and the tornado product. All had a decrease in horsepower by about 3. The tests were run on a '00 Chevy Tahoe. So i'd say **** on the TB spacer idea

I doubt it. I had one, but stopped using when I got my BBK, another item up for discussion. I have a dyno scheduled Friday. Maybe if the guys are cool about it, I can get some numbers on the GMS MAF, BBK, and TB Spacer and finally contribute something intelligable to this site instead of repeating everybody else.
