tb coolant bypass

go to www.ls1.com , it will show you how to do the mod, plus it gives you some other free mods to do, i did the EGR mod and the t-stat mod, the t-stat mod will save you like $50, you just place a BB in the t-stat, and it will drop you t-stat to like 160*. some people say that the Mass air mod is not worth it, most people on this bord go back to the stock mass air, it just runs better. hope this helps.
for the t-stat mod go here

All you need is a 1/4" hose splice, 2 hose clamps, and 2 1/4" rubber caps. Pull the hoses off the TB, splice them together and cap off the inlet/out to the TB. It will keep you TB cooler but dont expect astronomical gains from it but every little bit helps.
You can also do the EGR tube trim if you have a 99-01. Removeing the MASF screen is another free mod. I would only recomend this one if you have a better flowing intake than stock though.(GenII, UPD, Volant, etc...)

Why would you want to bypass the coolant from the throttle body? I understand you could possible cool it down some but why would GM run coolant into the throttle body in the first place? This may be a stupid question but I really don't see how you could help it all that much. Why not run freon or something from your AC into it to cool it?

Look at this thread. It has a pic of what you need.

AKZ71: The reason for the coolant going through the T/B is not really to cool down the mix, but to warm up the T/B to keep the blade from freezing shut in colder climates. The heat soak is so minamal it realy doesn't help at all. So why do it?? Because we can! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
