Tb Bypass?

Well the reasoning behind is is because the coolant is routed through the throttle body on the bottom of it. This allows it to stay warm so if you're in a cold climate are where it snows its supposed to stop the throttle plate from sticking. So doing this mod is supposed to re route the hot coolant away from the throttle body thus keeping the incoming air from being heated up. However i dont know if the air would be heated up with it traveling that fast anyways. I did it to my truck but dont really notice anything. But everything counts so try it, its not to expensive either. hope this helps

It stops coolant running through the throttle body which in turn is supposed to "cool the air comming into the motor." IMO the air doesnt have time to heat up because it is moving too fast. It can have ill effects on people who live in colder climates. I think i heard of restarting hot engines or something but dont quote me on that.

I am boosted...cheap or cheesy, if the modification helps at all cooling the IAT, then IMO, it's worth it. It alone doesn't create power, it allows me to run more timing so that I can create more power that way. But, FWW, this particualr mod probably doesn't lower the IAT's that much, maybe more so in the summer. At least lowering the IAT's enough to make a huge difference in the timing I am running. But I never did a before after test either.
As far as the TB shrinking...hmmm, that's a good hypothesis..., however the coldest part of the setup would be the blade, the air rushing on the blade more so than the tb itself would make it shrink more than the tb housing. Thinner metal. In that thread, I am a beleive the mositure was just right, constant cruising (the blade stayed in the same position for miles)....just like putting your tongue/wet lip (I said wet lip) on a metal pole in 10* weather.
As far as mods go, I think you can more results form the TB bypass than a TB spacer. Just my opinion. And people pay good money for those beautiful looking pieces of metal. But at the same time, I wouln't pay for any parts to do the TB bypass...it porbably doesn't make enough of a difference. Mine was a free-by.
