I put a piece of shrink tube in a cup of gas. It's been there over 24hours and so far its fine. I'll just leave it there and if it starts to fall apart or somthing I'll know i gotta drop the tank and do somthing else.

Put that heat shrink in a small sealed jar of gas and put it on a shelf in your garage. Every so often, shake it around a little and take a look at it. You may find that it starts to decay over time.

I also think it should be fine on a low tank of gas, with the exception of hard accelleration. Of course, the last thing you want is to be full throttle under boost and lose fuel pressure.

Idea: Buy a fuel pressure safety switch that would normally be used for a nitrous install. Install it so that on low fuel pressure, it trips a relay that activates an LED light or a buzzer in the cab. Better yet, it could open an electric boost bypass to save your butt.

Yep, that is the same pump I installed. 4000 miles on it and so far no problems. I have even driven it with as little as an 1/8 tank of gas, but didnt dare go WOT with the fuel that low.

I just recently removed it and installed dual intank pumps. Never had any problems with it and all looked great when removed.
It may work with a 2003 and up, but not sure.

Pics of the dual setup? The "bucket" that holds the actual pump is different on the 03s and up. I forget which walbro it is but there is one that is a direct replacement and no modifying is needed.
