Decided to put the 6.0 radiator, electric fans, and 160 thermo on the truck.
Here is a pic of how to stop the waterpump pulley from spinning while trying to loosen the clutch fan nut. I took the stock belt off and cleaned the smooth side off with some alcohol. Then I cleaned the pulley off with alcohol also. Next, I wrapped the belt around the pulley with the smooth side facing the pulley. Then I just doubled the belt over and kept wrapping it around the pulley in a clockwise direction. I left enough unwrapped to hook on the alternator pulley. Once the belt was good I used a pipe wrench with a couple of quick taps from a hammer to loosen the fan nut.

If that pic doesn't show up just copy and paste the link. The UBB code is acting up here lately.

I bought the truck used man, that's what it looked like. When I switch motors I'll clean it up a bit but, until then I ain't wasting no time on it. :p
Big pictures bring out detail you normally don't notice also....yeah that's it, it's the big picture that makes it look like that.

Whitt1 - The electrics made a big difference in low rpm and mid range throttle response. Top end improved a bit but, not as noticebable as down low. I went with the Flexalite 282's about 4-5 months ago(Check first post date
) and haven't had a hiccup out of them yet.
BigTex - I honestly don't know what the previous owner did to this truck. I literally found things wrong with it on a semi daily basis for months. I had it delivered from NC after my dad "checked it out" while on vacation down there. I asked him after I started finding alot of stuff wrong if he had actually even looked at the truck. He said "Yeah, but I figured you were gonna tear it up anyway so..."
Oh well, I still love the old guy.
When the motor comes out I'll be tidying up the engine bay a little but, it's not me to worry about that stuff too much.

Good idea with the belt! The electric fans work very well to help the low to mid range and they also improve gas mileage (we all need that!). Just need to come up with a way to improve cooling while towing. Then it would be the perfect truck mod.
If I find the that engine or tranny heats up while towing with these I'll just swap back to the stock fan if I'm going to be pulling a trailer. It won't take along at all after everything is wired.
