Default switching to Magnaflow

my reasoning...
since switching converters (going from a 3600 to a 3000), my exhaust tone has developed a horrible rasp at low rpms when accelerating.

here is my current exhaust setup...

the muffer right now is a hooker aerochamber 4.75x10.25, 14" case, single 3" in/out

my solution is hopefully a bigger case magnaflow muffler will cure this problem and lower the overall sound a bit. i just ordered a magnaflow 5x8, 18" case, single 3" in/out. i wish i could go bigger with the case length but i really don't have the room.

do yall think i'm heading in the right direction with this?

thanks,
Lance

I have the same rasp and the same muffler. It was 10x worse with my dynomax bullet though.

This was my solution to the problem your describing... 2 magnalfows... No rasp at all, and it is not as quiet as you would think...

I have he round cased 30 inch magnaflow. Although its 4 inch not 3 i really like the sound. It is behind a turbo. A lot of guys are running it. Sounds great...

I have the 18" magnaflow and really like it quiet cruising and gets sound when i get on it.. I plan on getting headers soon so i will see if it changes tone.. On the highway you can here it but its not anywhere as loud as a flowmaster... Just perfect in my opinion

I've got Pacesetter long tubes with their off road y-pipe and the Magnaflow 15617 cat back and it sounds great to me with no rasp/drone what so ever. So yeah, I think you're headed in the right direction.
