Default swaping a 6.0 L

I am swapping a 6.0L engine with 4l80e tranny into my 1990 3/4 ton truck.

I am being told that the AC compressor might not fit but I have a hard time believing that as my truck is a kit and the engine bay is huge. Also my wiring guy is not sure what is required to get the cruise control to hook up. Can I just hook it to an on off push button?

Is there anyone who has done a 350TBI to 6.0 swap before?

Any help is appreciated as I am finding that my mechanic is less knowledgeable than he made himself out to be. He has been able to strip the truck of the old stuff and is now starting to think about how to get the new stuff in.

Thanks,

i swapped a ls1 in a 94 and the a/c will work but you have to either notch the frame or get a bracket from hotrodlane.cc.. Being as you have a 3/4 ton it may go no problem.. The 350 tbi to ls1 was easier to me than the 5.3 to 6.0 swap i just completed.. We didnt hook cruise control up so cant help you there..

WHAT?

How come?
I did one of the early 5.3 to 6.0 swaps into my 00
It was easy,I have most of the parts needed for a 6.0 into a 92K15 with 4.3 and use the OE 5sp,maybe you can help with info?

I'm doing a similar swap myself. I have a 92 Chevrolet SCSB. I've been doing a lot of research and the most information I've found so far is on LS1TRUCK.COM
RedHeartbeat has done 2 conversions like ours for himself.

Also as was mentioned before HOTRODLANE.CC has done a conversion on a Tahoe, and there is a lot of good information there as well.

Right now I'm trying to find a stock iron block 6.0L in hopes of building a 408. I have L92 heads and L76 intake.
Well I hope this helps answer some of your questions.

Probably just the way we did it.. Ripped all the old stuff out and started fresh.. The Harness we bought from Allen Nelson was great and really cleaned it up.. My brother and I did both of these with no help and my truck was a beast.. I guess because we left the transmission in there.. We had a hard time getting it out but putting the new engine back in was not that bad because we learned what to do and what not to do.. The Ls1 swap was really a breeze.. Our truck already had a v8 in it however so all we had to do was buy the motor mount adapters from street and performance.. We set the engine in bolted it down, plugged up the harness Allen sent us and started working on getting the guages to work.. Its at the shop right now getting exhaust put it on, been there for a while as I was unable to track down flanges for it so we are getting some made.. If you have any specific questions let me know, ill see what I can do.. You will love that 6.0 in your 92.. I know our 94 RCSB with ls1 =

Thanks for all the info I haven't had a chance to read it all in detail but I am sure it will greatly help with the process. I am going to print it all out, highlight sections and work closely with the mechanic.

Thanks, again. I'll let you know what comes up.
