Default Don't know WTF happened!

To make a long story short, I was on the gas hard tonight and around 5500rpms I heard a loud buzzing noise. It sounded like something slipping almost. Now when I floor it, the truck hesitates for a couple seconds then it seems to get into it but not as hard as it used to. I am hoping it's just the verter going out that way I have a reason to get a higher stalling one but my luck it won't be that easy.

Is it true that your tranny will run it's hardest right before it's about to go out?
