SVO 36# Injector??
#1
Ok i was wondering if they will go right in my 5.3? I am putting on a sc and want to up grade to bigger injectors. It came with 32# but i want a hair bigger. I need bigger injectors and found these at a good price. If anyone has any others let me know. Kinda wanted 42# but couldn't find them cheap enough. Any info is great thanks.

No, the SVO injectors share the same style injector plug as the Fbodies and Vette's. They wont plug in. You will need to modify your harness by clipping off your injector clips and soldering on the F-body style ones. Also remmeber that if your injectors are 32# at the GM fuel pressure then the 36# SVO will turn out to be 42# or so given the low fuel pressure (38psi) they were designed to work at. If you want a 36# injector then use the SVO 30s which will be about 36# at our pressures.

I was told that the fms 42# injectors go in just like any other injector on are trucks. But i see that you said need to cut and solder stuff. I don't want to do that so can i just get the ford motorsport 42 and put them in and redo my compter to run them?

I don't see how they would go right in. If they are able to be used on Mustangs then how can you just put them in our trucks unless you change the clips?
I have had SVO 30s twice, 36# , and 47# in my 87 Mustang and they all used the same clips so i don't see why they would switch just for a set of 42s. Sounds kinda odd to me.
Plus those 42s would be like 48s in your truck hehehe
If you find out for sure if they fit please let us know but it doesn't sound right to me unless those are a different set of 42#s than I am used to seeing.

Gotcha. I think it is BS personally.
I know for a fact the 30# SVOs wont fit because I had a set in my hands the other day and went to install them on my truck thinking they would pop right in like they did on my T/A or Mustang and sure enough, the clips were completely different then either cars.
You sure that kit was for a truck and not for an F-body? The injectors drop right into an F-body.

SVO injectors will NOT fit the trucks without modifying the fuel rails and injector clips.
Do a search on Fbody injector conversion in here. I did a write up on what it takes to convert over to Fbody/SVO type injectors.

Ya it is for a truck it came with 32 but said they will be maxed out with these injectors on my set up. I wanted bigger is all but don't want to cut or anything. I just want to take mine out and put new ones in.

Here is the thread about converting over to Fbody type injectors.

There is a drop in 43# injector for the trucks but, it's not equivalent to a 42# SVO since they are rated at different pressures. The truck injector is a 43# injector at our pressures while the 42# SVO injector acts more like a 49-50# injector at our pressures.
