Default supercharger vs turbo 2009 6.2L

I'm definitely going to put some forced induction on this truck. remote turbo or supercharger. which shall it be? whipple, radix, vortech, or the turbo system? reliability is a factor to me also. I really lean to the supercharger more due to the fact of the diesel I had with it's turbo I never got used to it. i felt like i had to have a crystal ball to know when the power was about to kick in.....don't get me wrong it had power....it's just you pushed the pedal down counted to 2 or 2-1/2 and your off. I don't want another turbo if it's like that on the gas truck also.

You are new here so we'll give you a break
The Magnuson TVS is going to give you the ultimate in reliability and instant torque.

wait, you've been here 2 years and you don't know this already

I vote turbo.

Turbo gives you the most potential, the most efficiency, and everyone always seems to end up with a turbo in the long run anyways. If it's sized properly there shouldn't be much lag if any.

If you want a reliable turbo setup, go with a front mount first and be done with it...

TURBO OR PROCHARGER...both are better than regular blowers IMO

^^way to necro there!

if i had to get a s/c, i'd get a TVS system
personally, i'd get a turbo - not a huge one, that'll have your dreaded lag. i'd also get a front-mount, but if you want a rear-mount, i hear good things about the STS kits

I've had a Radix (MP112), 76mm turbo, 82mm turbo, and now a TVS2300, and hands down the TVS is giving me the most fun I've ever had in this truck. Turbo may have a higher power potential but you have to run something big that will be laggy, and while a turbo is more efficient the new TVS blower are nipping on the heels of a turbo efficiency map. For my application, I'm looking at about 5-6% lower efficiency with the blower, which is pretty damn close.

I think a TVS1900 would do very well on your setup, or if you're looking for *****-to-the-wall power and higher boost numbers, a TVS2300. The boost and torque on this thing are absolutely instant, and no matter how small of a turbo you go with I can guarantee it won't feel like this does.
