Default Suggestions on 07 CCSB LS1 swap

i am swapping out my 4.8 for an LS1 for fun i guess u could say. i do pull my boat and four wheelers around quite a bit so i want some good low end power. Any cam suggestions? LS1 intake or truck intake? Suggestions on anything to do with the swap would be much appreciated. thanks guys

We have the new 58 tooth relucter not the older 24 the LS-1 has so I would go with a 07 and later 6.0 stab a ls-6 cam in and your there. It just doesn't have the fancy aluminum block, but the compression is friendlier for towing. Also you can get a 408ci short block for about $4000 that will get that will produce 50 more HP and TQ.

I would stick with the truck intake for towing, but the car intakes can have an edge on total HP. But remember your truck weighs 6000lbs so torque is king so look into the 408 package as everything from your 4.8 swaps over, Then ship me your 4.8 so I can have a spare motor for my truck.

LQ9 and throw a cam in it along with some LT's and a good tune! that would be your best bet for what u are looking for IMO

I have done some research on the subject and talked to a couple machine shops and this is what I was thinking of doing.

ls1 block stock
5.3 heads with ls1 valves (2.0 intake, 1.55 exhaust)
224R cam or something of that size
truck intake so as not to lose too much down low
lpp long tube headers with y pipe
ls1 e-fans

The 5.3 heads will get you around 10.6:1 compression I believe so you will still be fine with mid-grade fuel. This was kind of a budget build as well so if you can afford better heads and such they will probably be a better option. This is just something I put together as a possible combo and is in no way complete with all the parts you would need.

Do like the above said grab you a stock 6.0 lq4 or 9 cam it if you have the funds do a tune and it will be a day and night difference. But are you 07' classic or NBS makes a difference it what engines you have available to you.

Have you thought about the differences in CR between the motors? I maybe wrong but I believe these are the stock CR:

LQ4 = 9.4:1
LQ9 = 9.9:1
LS1 = 10.5:1
