Default The Suburban goes into the 13s!

I took another trip to New England Dragway to run the Suburban today and came home with a 13 second timeslip. The truck ran two 14.08s last week and then that was repeated on my first run tonight. The rest of the runs ranged from 14.07 to 14.13 with 60' times between 1.98 and 2.02. At that point I really didn't think it was going to go into the 13s. Then... the final run of the night. I smelled them spraying the track about 15 minutes before I took this pass. I staged, brought the RPMs up a little higher than I have been, came off the brake when the 3rd yellow lite and felt the truck launch hard. The end result was -

60' - 1.91
330 - 5.65
1/8 - 8.82
MPH - 76.85
1000 - 11.59
1/4 - 13.93
MPH - 95.79

All of these runs were done in Auto 4WD so there was hardly any tire spin. I said I'd stop racing this at the track when after it ran 13s so it is now retired as a "race vehicle". The 22s will be going back on tomorrow then it will just be used to cruise and to pull the car hauler once in awhile.

Nice times I'd like to get my truck in the 13s as well, but I'm not sure it's going to happen with the stock transmission in there, though I am only 3 tenths away. My current best is 14.30.

COOL,I'm glad you finally made it.The really cool part is that you ran in the 13s without compromising the towing ability of the truck.

I did this with the stock wheels/tires. The 22s are about 3" taller so I loose a little gear with them.

sleepersilverado: That would be even better if it was done in front of his friends

I hear Kenne Bell might be coming out with an upgrade kit for the Whipple that I'm running. I'm going to give them a call to see what they have planned. There is never to much power but no more track time for this one!
