Submersible fuel line for fuel pump

I swapped the line today, and good thing I did!!!
The hose actually wasn't in bad shape. It did swell slightly and feels a little mushier. But here's the part that got me. The side of the hose says
"FUEL VAPOR >PCV/EEC< 5/16 INCH (8.0mm) SAE 30R7 NOT FOR FUEL INJECTION SYSTEMS MADE IN U.S.A. BY GATES"
No wonder it was so cheap, those dumbasses gave me the wrong hose. I'm very glad I swapped it out. The Gates 27093 fit perfectly. Took about 1.5 hours to change.
