All of the above is obvious. I don't think anyone would actually go to the extent of getting into a full blown turbo system and NOT upgrade the fuel system and such. As for stock internals they are not all that weak. All the LS1 cars run 430-500rwhp on the turbo and blower kits with no problems at all. They simply upgrade injectors, fuel pump and get custom tunijng THEN preceed to blow up their trannies

I am fully aware that my tranny is gone. I am waiting until all the bills for this conversion are paid then buying a 4L80E to swap in because IMO even a built 4L60E is not going to hold up to that kind of abuse. I don't give a flying leap who built it. I went through 5 trannies in my T/A and half the autos in my club have been through at least 3 and none of them are making more than 500rwhp on bottle.

I think the whol epoint of the excitemtn here is that the STS kit is indeed capable of making great power. Period. Not wether or not this truck will hold up or not because it is irrelavent. If you decide to buy this kit (with upgraded turbo and Alky) you CAN make serious power. Now, wether you decide to play it safe and beef up the rest of the truck is up to you. I plan on playing it safe. If my motor can't hang with that kind of power well then I'm simply a set of pistons and rod bolts away from a rebuild..... Gotta pay to play

I paid about $3.25/ga for it at my local speed shop. Look for any place that sells nitrous and race gas and they'll likely have access to Methanol also. I think some people run standard denatured alcohol that you can get real cheap at department stores or something. Not 100% sure though.

even at 15psi 500rwhp is a nice number.

if i reved mine up to it's peak i would have seen a little over 500rwhp at 11psi on a camed 6.0. that says to me the sts kit is performing prety good. how does it feel on the street?

500rwhp.....Damn! That's amazing that the stock 5.3 heads/intake/cam can flow that much. Congratz to whoever's truck that is. Those are some serious numbers. I don't think that 15psi with alky is too much, because doesn't STS claim almost 100% intercooler efficiency with all that plumbing and alky with like 9psi. What kind of gas was that dyno run on.....that's important too.

What are the stock pistons made out of, are they hypers, and are the rods cast? Parish has to be putting out more power than that, and doesn't he have stock internals? Just some food for thought.

going off the mph/hp calculator i am at 677rwhp, i think the 5.3 would go nearly that far for awhile if you can avoid detonation completly. i say put a 75shot on top of the 15psi and see what happens

I think it will handle it just fine as long as it is not abused. You can always use TQ managment to help soften things up a bit.

I know the #s for the truck but I am hoping Jason will post up the sheet here soon as I am dying to see the full curve. Peak #s don't mean squat to me. LOL
