Default STS Turbo repalces the Muffler?

Just wondering about how the exhaust sounds? Is it loud and does it resonate in the cab?

Good question, my kit should be here this week and my brother and i were just talking about that. If i need a muffler, it would be a good time to put it on.

I rode in a Silverado SS with the STS kit this weekend. It is pretty quiet inside the cab. Outside the cab is another story... nice whistling sound.

It's pretty awesome sounding in & out of the truck! You could however install a bullet muffler if you wanted to kill some of the sound

I read a while back that the turbo w/no muffler is actually pretty quiet, that the turbo creates enough of a restriction to muffle the exhaust note quite a bit......I've never heard one though so I have no idea

I rode in one this past weekend. One had put resonators before the turbo, but their sounds were very similar. Sounded nice, not very loud at all. Turbo sounds wicked. Base kit doesn't come with a BOV, but I would get one. The air goes back through the turbo if not and I really didn't care for the sound of it.
