sts owners inside

I have a 04 ec 5.3. I am considering the sts kit. What other parts are REALLY needed to comlete the install to have a dependable upgrade. i.e. injectors intercooler, or programming? Thanks, Rodney "slowec"

You already mentioned them.
Injectors, fuel pump, intercooler OR meth, and a custom tune. A good boost controller can make life easy too.
I started with just meth and it works great but ended up getting the IC. I kinda needed it once power levels rose.
I would also set a goal for the truck and choose the turbo accordingly. Why waste another $700+ to upgrade the turbo later. Just get the GT67 now and deal with a lil lag till you get everything finished.

F8L beat me to it, but I would have to reccommend doing the setup I just did.
Go for the bast kit. The Base turbo will be a decent choice, or you can spend the extra $$$ and upgrade to a bigger one. The bigger the turbo, the more high end pulling power there is, but on the other hand, it will lag more. I went with the gt-67 since my future motor mods will mate better with it.
Talk to Rick@Synergy... he now makes the FMIC kits for the STS... It comes with all the neccesary piping, clamps, fittings, and intercooler.
You'd need to get new injectors, a bigger fuel pump(I went w/ and in-line walbro 255), colder spark plugs, and a boost controller. A boost gauge and fule pressusre gauge are also good to have.
then get a custom tune. On the spot dyno tunes are the only way to go if you are doing a bigger power adder like this one.

Hey Erik. What injectors are you doing? I need to get something at least 60lb and I was pretty sure they would end up being F-bod style so the harness will have to be modified. Just wantd to make sure before I give Rick the goahead to order some.
You'll like my new setup. Not as cool as yours but for a budget I am hoping for low 11s.
