I have AS&M headers and a rear mount. The headers were on the truck when the turbo was installed. Contrary to what everyone says I believe the headers help to make more power. The only mods I have are in my sig and the 5.3 is making 486 rwhp power according to weight of truck and e.t. calculations. This is at 7.5 psi.

I never dyno'd or did any good calculations with and without. I started with but on the 2nd motor we just went back to stock. I had to many problems with leaking with the AS&Ms. Doing calcs from MPH vs weight I was in the 525-550rwhp range at 14.5psi on the stock manifolds.

IMO as long as you can retain as much heat as possible and not leak you would be ok with headers. As to the benifit? It remains to be seen. The Hemi guys did a test with 2 identicle trucks, 1 with headers and 1 without and there was no real difference.

Don from Dez racing feels the stocks are just fine but recomends porting them out a tad bit to clean things up. For smog purposes I'm going to keep my manifolds on the RCSB when we put the STS kit on it.
