Hey Jesse,

What kind of vehicle are you running the STS kit on? What part of S FL?

nice articles, on the one they reported 160deg IAT's and 8deg of timing, a 75hp increase and 5.6psi.

some cooler air and timing would show some serious gains and if you could get the IAT's down you could run more that 6psi.

one thing i see on the hp chart is by 5400rpm it is droping prety fast. no idea if that is a result of the IAT's going up and the tuning pulling timing or some kind of exhaust restriction showing it's face.

A lot of money for 75-80 HP. I have heard of better numbers with this unit from Nelson but maybe they will show up with some tuning.

those numbers aren't too impressive, although they were only doing 5.6#.

I think for the money the HP #s are acceptable because unlike doing heads & cam which is only good for about the same gain, you can easily upgrade your fuel system and turn up the boost for some wicked gains.

Synergy just dyno'd a totally stock LS1 Camaro then added the kit back on and dyno'd again and came up with 289/310 stock and 401/410 on 5psi with no alky and just 9 octane. That's a respectable gain for only 5psi.

I think a big part of the problem is the inlet air temps. They said they measured 160deg IATs which is WAAY too hot for peak #s. I'm an definately adding an intercooler along with my alky once I can aford it.

Those numbers aren't bad at all for that low of boost and those IAT's. If I understood that right, IAT's went to 160 from 65 to 85 goung uphill. That's a pretty quick temp rise. Anything non-intercooled would be like that though.

IMO you shouldn't do forced induction without some sort of intercooling device. Add that, and you could easily double those gains. With a fuel system upgrade.
