Not the way it works in California, it is a 2-part deal: (1) Visual (2) Sniffer. Fail either test and you fail the whole thing outright.

I thought STS claims that things can be put back to stock in a very short amount of time?

I don't think you'd need to de-install EVERYTHING, just the critical stuff to get it back to legal-status... (turbo gone, put the muffler section back up, fix up the oil lines in one way or another, and get the stock intake back in.... right?)

It's not that easy. I go in there, they say WTF, where is the CARB sticker.... I dont have one. STS still hasnt passed through CA emissions, so they won't pass the visual testing on it.

Just go with the plan you had when you purchased the Kit. Heck in the time span from your first and last post you could have had the kit off and back on again.

I hear ya. I lived in San Diego for 4yrs. My 96 dodge was a 1/2 4wd with 360 straight duals, no cats and no muffler. The guy was cool. It failed the sniffer as a 1/2 ton, but he passed it as a 1 ton. It just takes finding a cool gas station and 50 bucks. Everyone is corrupt.
