Default Stroker timing question

hey guys, long time lurker. I have just put together a iron 408 stroker. ported 317's, 243/257 @.613 111lsa+3 custom spec btr cam, 10.8 to 1 comp. it may have been me getting used to the motor, however, it seemed to pull harder with less timing. I mean like 15 degrees WOT instead of 27 Degrees. Do the strokers require less timing to get to optimal timing? This weekend after i fix a dreaded header leak, i will play with the timing. Not sure if anyone has ran into this before. Thanks for the help!

Spark timing is based on the efficiency of the cylinder heads. Less efficient, more timing, more efficient, less timing.

That's the funny thing with engines. Some like more timing, some like less.

Only way to be sure is to put it on a dyno.

True, i wish i had a 4wd dyno around here that isnt almost 1g to get tuned on. I guess i could always pull the front driveshaft.

selectable 2hi, 4hi, 4lo, and auto.
I was told to not dyno this style case without having all 4 tires turning. Not sure if that is correct.
