Yea, upping the comp would be a nice upgrade if it is within budget. I am running 11.5CR with a 3400 stall (however only have been tooling around the neighborhood) and it is fine for me. Pump gas will be fine as well depending on how agressive your advance is. Keep in mind all of the crap that is needed for the FAST intake if you do not have it already (WP, Relo the idler pulley, cutting the alt bracket, spacing pulleys...) It adds up quick.

As mentioned by ap2002, the 4000 may be a good choice since you have an 80E.

im real comfortable driving mine with a 4k stall in a 60e, if you are making it just for track use and the occasion street driving, i wouldnt be scared to run a 4200-4400 with a 80e..,.. IMO

I had the ls6 so the fast should be an easy swap. As far as compression I have 64cc heads that haven't been milled with 12cc dished pistons and I had stock gaskets so I could go thinner. I'll do whatever is safe for milling and use cometic head gaskets. Everything depends on what shape the engine is in once it's torn apart. I bet 4000 stall would be nice and I'll probably do that or a 3800.

I did some calculations and I'm somewhat limited on changing the CR. If I mill my 64 cc heads to 59cc and use a .052 gasket I get 11.0 compression or 11.3 by using a .40 head gasket. The combo is not too agrressive so I assume there will be no PTV problems. Can that be checked by math instead of waiting for the machine shop to tell me.

Also I would have to swap cams to optimize the vic jr performance and I figure that the $400 cam savings and $450 that I can get for the victor jr and elbow will pay for a fast intake. This time around I'm going to make my truck more track oriented instead of daily driver. I currently have 10.5 compression and would like to know if 11.5 or 11 would be better. Also, what stall would you guys do for maximum launch and still be OK on the streets. Are there any upgrades I should do so I can spin the motor to 7k and not have worries? I already have patriot dual springs, and harland sharp 1.8 rockers.
What size cam do you have? Most larger size cams with fast ramp rates don't recommend 1.8 rockers... You might want to check into that before you spin it to 7000...

Cam is a 238/250 .619”/.630” 112LSA +3 advance (with 1.8 ratio rockers). It is ground on XE lobes which are OK for the rockers.

Still haven't pulled the motor but I'm lining up other parts I needed. I bought a vengeance ported Fast 90/90 and some fueling upgrades. What air intake are you 90mm guys using? I think the K&N I have will be too small. Also has anyone installed burst discs or is that something a pro should do?

Talking about the burst disks that are installed on the intake manifold to prevent damage during a backfire.
