I am looking into starting a naturally aspirated stroker build as soon as I sell my bike. I am having trouble deciding what block to use as a base. In theory this block will go with L92 heads, L76 intake, 24x/24x cam, 2600-2800 Tq conv, prob a 4l80E.
LSX
L92
LQ9
There are readily available stroker engine packages for the LQ9. But I am really interested in the L92 (418ci) or the LSX (418-427ci). The truck will remain a daily for now with 5-6 trips to the track a year. So it needs reasonable reliability/durability. But will make the ricers and mustangs poop their pants. I kind of like the LSX but I don't think I will ever need that many cubes (up to 511 in the tall deck version). Seems like the aluminum L92 plus L92 heads would make a nice pair.
What would be the best bang for my buck?
Thoughts, pros, cons, insults, understanding offers of another drink welcome.
