is anybody running a stroked 5.3?

Thanks my mustang has 347 stroker very fun to drive so I wanted to check into stroking my 5.3

 

nope never heard of such a thing

You can stroke a 5.3 just as easily as any other engine. You're gonna need new pistons so you might as well punch the bore to a 3.898 LS1/6 bore size and make it a 383. By doing so you will unshroud the valves for better breathing and opens up more cylinder head choices.

by the time you punch out the cylinders .125 and buy a stroker kit you could have bought a 6.0 tossed in a good set of pistons, cam and heads and make more power than i do with my 383 for half the price.

 

Don't mean to bring alive an old thread but I am currently running a stroked Gen IV 5.3. All forged 383, 6.3L.
