Default Strange Q:Drain Plug Threads?

I'm putting in an electric tranny temp guage in my truck, and it requires mounting the sender in the pan somewhere. I was just going to weld a bung on the pan, but I was wondering if I could just use the drain plug hole.

What's the thread count on the drain plug for a 60e?

I was thinkin' I could get an adapter if necessary. I don't want to blindly pull it out, because I don't wanna mess with the mess.

I'm putting mine in tonight as well, and here is what 01Thunder suggest I do.

driver side of the trans... right above the shift linkage is a plug. 3/8 i think.. your guage shoud have come with a plug looking thing with a terminal on the end ..
put some teflon tape around the threads, and srew it in the hole, and tighten... connect the wire, and your done.

That's the route I'm going to take. Hope this helps ya out.

Installed the tranny temp gauge tonight. Used the little bolt above the linkage, just as 01Thunder described. Sender fit perfectly in the hole.

That little plug should also give you line pressure readings if it is the same as a 700R4. Pretty convienent little plug.

I think I read that it would also. I'm really glad they put that sucker there. Made my install so much easier!
