Default Strange misfire.....

Coming home late last night I was hauling *** on the freeway, and at WOT about 5500rpm my ses light started flashing so I let out of it and it kept flashing for awhile then turned off. I had my laptop in the truck, and hooked it up as soon as I got home and it was a p0300 or somthing like that.

Anyone have any Idea what caused this? I didnt hear anything strange, but I had the music on a little.

is your laptop able to monitor all cylinders for misfires?? you might have to go out and drive it to look at what cylinder is missing. PO300 never tells you anything ither than there was a misfire.

I've been fighting the same thing. I was blaming it on the meth injection till I did a log yesterday with " cylinder misfire" set as a pid on all 8 cylinders. Come to find out 95% of my "random cyl misfire" was coming from cyl #6. I haven't messed with it yet but I'm betting that I have a bad plug wire, even though I have a 1 year old set of Taylor TV50's.

Check your injector wiring. I've had the same issue and it was always injector connections coming loose. Of course check the plugs and wires.

I have had misfire issues from loose fitting plug wires on the plug end. Most connectors for the plug end do not fit very tight in the plug wires I've bought. I have started taking regular slip-joint pliers and squeezing the connectors just slightly in the open part of the pliers. Making them fit tighter has fixed some previous issues I have had.

Also, make sure you hear two audible clicks on the coil end of the wires when you put them on.

Plugged converters show up @ high rpm's. Something to check.
