Default Strange Boost Action

I was on my way home from work tonight....around 1:45am...and was getting some strange, but good, boost readings. With my stock pulley now, I should only see 6.5-7lbs at the max....but i was constantly hitting 7.5-8-to even 9lbs at WOT. Just to make sure my eyes weren't playin tricks on me....i was rollin at like 35, put it in neutral and rev'd it and hit 10lbs!!! then it backfired and sounded like a 12 guage!
I really have no clue why i would be gettin these numbers other than the fact is that its like 10-15 degrees cooler outside with like 0 humidity?
What you guys think?

did someone put an orange in your tailpipe No, boost should not go up like that which you describe when running the same size pulley. (well at least it shouldn't double) It will go up depending on atmosheric pressure.

It will vary a little. Just enjoy it while it's like that, and don't blow the motor up.

1/2 a pound variation in good weather seems normal. 3 pounds sounds like something you may want to check into. Sounds like an exhaust restriction to me. Has it happened just once or is becoming more common?? Higher boost readings dont neccesarily mean more power. My boost dropped a bit when I put my headers on, but power went up.

Is it continuous every day all day now?? Hmmmm, if it feels strong than maybe its nothing. Ive had cats collapse. That creates a huge restriction, but I think it would drive like crap. Thats how my SS was when the cats collapsed on me.

What kinda of Boost Guage are you running
I've had issues with the Electric types reading way off
Mechanical gauges seem to work best
Next I'd check your Cats
