Default Stock rev limit

I have been playing with the hypertech settings trying to find some gains. I know they suck but i picked it up super cheap and it's all I have at the moment.

What is the stock rev limit on an 02 5.3? What can I safely spin a stock internal 5.3 to? At what rpm does power start to fall off?

Mods in sig.

Stock cam is going to tank after about 5000rpm @ ~225HP. Stock rev limit is 5800. Max you can set with a Dypertech is 6200 so no worries about going too far. I would HIGHLY recommend against using the engine tuning and just use it to set your shift points instead. The Dyper tuning is incredibly conservative and inefficient and will not give you any spark advances as well as make your fuel tables very rich. (you may even see a loss in power depending on the application)

I have had a tuner compare the Hypertech tune against the OE tune and all it did was increase fuel to the point of being too rich and hardly bumped up the spark at all.

Actually, the hypercrapper bumped the timing up wayy too high and didnt touch the fuel.
I had one when i got efilive and my first tune, with efilive, with me not knowing what i was doin made a big difference.

Ill look and see if i can find it again, ill post up what the changes were just for the heck of it.

But set the revlimiter up as high as it will let you, And see if you can get it to shift at 6000.
I ran my best times on my bone stock truck shifting it at 6100.
