Just wondering if I could use my stock pushrods out of Z71 for a ZO6 cam install? I have the cam and springs all I need to know is the info on the pushrods. The 2002 ZO6 cam has a smaller base circle right?
Thanks,
Sean

The stock push rods should be just fine with the Z06 cam. Not too sure about the base circle size difference. I've been told by many very knowledgable mechanics that the stock push rods are perfectly ok to run in the trucks with a decent size cam. They only suggest hardened push rods for 6 speed sports cars or if you are going to be pushing 7000 RPM. They tell me like this, "Would you rather pull the heads and change bent valves, or pull the valve covers and change bent push rods?" I keep my stock push rods with my cam change and haven't had any problems.
Hope this helps out,
Steven

OH gustin knows about bent pushrods, don't ya, silverpig!! So where did you get the Z06 cam idea? J/K Go with aftermarkets. You can find them for under 100 in the parts for sale section the fbod guys use. Thats where I picked mine up. 7.4 length.

Im doing the same and keeping my rods. I was also told the same thing about the rods vs. valves theory. Im gonna roll with it! My freind did have an incedent where he bent a few of his rods, but he over-revved the **** out of his M6 TA. Hit the wrong gear when he was running a Mustang!

I have had the cam for a while. I got it from Scoggin cant remember the price.
Oh yes the ol Silver Pig bent a few rods but that was from over reving and hitting the rev limit a hand full of times. Heads and cam fixed that!
Anymore info on th stock length (or stock) pushrods used with a 2002 ZO6 cam?
Thanks guys,
Sean

Can't go wrong with Comp Prods, 7.4 length. Cheap insurance, but don't listen to me
Sean, I talked me dad into a LS1 conversion with T56 in to the Chevy II, but he wants it going now and well it will take a while so were sticking with the old tried and true smallblock.

YES. I run the '02 LS6 cam with Thunder Racing 7.4" pushrods. The '02 LS6 cam does have a 19mm base circle versus a truck or LS1 cam of 19.7mm. You will be fine with the 7.4" pushrods. I did the math though and if you want to retain perfectly stock valvetrain geometry, you would need a pushrod 7.42756 inches long.
