I'm sending my 3k stall back to TCI to get it flushed, So I'm installing the stock one for now. I have never installed a stock converter before but for some reason when I turn the flywheel to get the holes lined up the converter turns to??? Are the Stock ones like this or is somthing not right? My buddy was boltin the bellhousing up and said that he heard a pop while he was tighting a bolt
. He was also the one who put the converter in the tranny. He said that he got the groves lined up and the converter went all the way in. Any chance that he made a big mastake and busted the pump? I damn sure hope not cuz this is a brand new tranny.

You have to get the verter locked into the pump. Been a long time since I installed one but when it was unbolted from the flywheel you could push them back and spin them independant of the the flywheel usually. Once bolted to the flywheel you couldn't obviously.
