Default stock alternator

Ok i was just wondering what alternator i had, i have a 02 avlanche. I am thinking about upgrading to the 05 efans of the silvys but have heard problems with them draining power. I was wondering if this is true and if my stock alternator could handle it. thanks.

My pickup has the 105 amp alternator, the RPO code for it is K68. The headlights dim when my electric fans kick on.

I have the 145amp alt and my headlights dim too...just when the fans first kick on high (when the a/c compressor kicks on). The voltmeter goes down for a second, then goes right back up. When the fans come on low, I haven't noticed any dimming or dipping of the voltmeter. tdrumm has been running the 05 efans with his stock 105amp alt for a while now, with no problems that I'm aware of.
