Default Stock 6.0 spring lift

what is the max lift on 6.0 springs ??

I ask because I have a set and comparing them to 2003 "yellow stripe" springa off of a set of #241 ls1 heads you can see that the "yellow stripe" springs are capable of quite a bit more lift

BTW...what is the max lift on the "yellow stripe" springs ?? (I thought those were ls6 springs)

Is it a bright yellow or a faded light off-yellow? The 02+ LS6 springs are usually either dipped in all bright yellow or have a good splash of yellow down the side. I think I've seen stock springs with a faded off white stripe on them.

The LS1 and LS6 springs look very similar physically. Side by side, you can tell the LS6 coils have an oval shaped wire and stand just a bit taller.

it's a faded off-yellow stripe down the side of each spring....which I am going to assume is a stock ls1 spring

so....what are the lifts capable with each of the stock springs....just for knowledge's sake, I've already bought Comp 918's

I'm assuming its in the .500+ range since thats the stock cam lift. GM moved to the 01 LS6 spring to handle .525 lift, so you'd think the stocker is less. Some people have said they used the stock springs on small lift aftermarket cams like the 01 LS6 adn comp 212/218. Of course, the stock spring may take the added lift, but probably doesnt have the spring pressure to handle higher rpms which would cause valve float.
