Default starting...or not

I am having problems starting my truck. I went out to start it the other night, and it barely turned over and then died. Dang, dead battery right? Tried jumping it, same thing. Brought battery back where i bought it, its a 2 month old optima red top, they tested it good. Dang, what else could it be besides the starter? replaced that, its original with 100k on it, still nothing. I turned the motor over by hand with a breaker bar and it seems fine, checked ground from battery to block, fine, checked connections, seemed ok, swapped relays, still nothing. all i am getting is a click from the solenoid and the starter gear popping to the flywheel. Anybody have any suggestions?? It won't even turn the motor.

Check for a voltage drop across the battery cables, one at a time. They may look OK but could be corroded internally, and not allowing enough current to flow to the starter.

try a different battery if you are able to, I don't trust auto part store battery tests.......the possibility is still there that your battery is NFG

sounds like it needs a new starter. have someone hold the key and tap the starter with a hammer. if it spins it is bad.

It's still doing it even after turning the motor by hand? That rules out a messed up flywheel I guess.

Hmmm.
