I have a 01' Chevy Silverado 64k miles on it, I have problems starting it sometimes, It will start on the third or fourth try, It happens when the truck sits over a long period of time. Anything would help

 

What's a long period of time? I would say replace your battery with a new one first. That would be the best place to start. You can also bring it somewhere to be tested as well if you don't really think it's the battery.
Bring it to a place that has an in depth type battery tester that tests more than just voltage.
If you have a NTB, O'reillys, Autozone, NAPA, Advanced Auto Parts, or Walmart near you, I would try one those first.

Not sure if applys to gas engine but have a deisel that the fuel pump would bleed down when sitting after 3 days hard to start. Replaced fuel pump and always starts 1st try now....... GM has fuel pump problems, if you plan on hopping up your engine it would be a god idea to upgrade your fuel pump anyways...

 

If the truck has been sitting for a bit try turning the ignition to the run position but do not start it. The fuel pump will run for 6 seconds or so and bring the fuel pressure in the fuel rail up a little. You should be able to hear it stop pumping. When it stops try to start your truck and see if that helps it to start better. The fuel pressure in the fuel rail will bleed down over time and may be causing the hard starting you are experiencing. You can repeat the procedure by turning the ignition to off and back on to run if once is not enough.

Check your fuel pressure regulator for leaking by pulling off the vacuum line. If there is fuel in the line then replace the fuel pressure regulator. The fuel pressure regulator is in the middle of the fuel rail on the driver's side and has a vacuum line going to the intake manifold. This is for trucks from 99-03. The 04 and newer trucks have a returnless fuel system and the regulator is in the tank.

I am not sure if leaking back is somewhat normal or if it means that your fuel pump should be replaced eventually.

 

I saw the title to this thread was 'STARING PROBLEM' so I thought maybe your truck had a staring problem. Maybe that it liked to stare at other vehicles and you thought it was rude of it to do. To which I would have give the advice to give her a swift kick to the tire and stop staring.........

But then I realized you meant starting problem. Funny though I laughed when I saw the title!
