If you could choose any stall speed, what would it be? I've found a place out in Louisiana that does 80 converters in pretty much any stall speed that you want!

That transmission place your refering to is about 10-15min down the road from my house. I'd be careful dealing with those people, heard too many bad things about them. CRAZYCUTTER4.8 had ordered a certain brand converter from them and it ended up being a different brand. The news even had a thing on them one night, a bunch of customers saying they messed-up their transmissions and wouldn't fix it. They wanted to interview the owner but, they couldn't get ahold of him. Just letting ya know...

My ULTIMATE goal is 120mph in the 1/4. Always wanted to bury the speedo in the 1/4 . I think it's going to take a lot more than I wanna spend right now to do it, though.

My more realistic short-term goal is to get in the high 12's on motor, and low 12's on the bottle.

I really have to get gears, or at least an Eaton since I'm dog-leggin' it right now.

BLOWNZ71--lemme know about the rear end! I'm interested!

If 120mph in the 1/4 is what you want get the 4.10's

I wish someone made a 4.33 for these rears but, I don't think anyone does. That would be an even better choice. 4.56's would be just a tad much for what you want.

With 4.10's and a 29" tall tire you'll cross the traps around 6000rpm at 120mph.

If you get a 14bolt there might be a 4.33 gear made for that, I don't remember now.

Is 120mph too high of a goal right now? You think I should set my goal a little lower and go with a more realistic converter/gear combo?

steeper gears will help a lot with driveability and increase your ability to launch well with a high stall.

Launching with a high stall + shallow gears = bog or spin.
