Default Stage1, stage2, stroker

Goodday all,

who can me explain stage 1, stage 2 mods?

To refer the term Stroker, all engine can become stroker with just a stroker kit?
383 Stroker Kit | eBay

What is the advantage with a stroker?
If i buy a lq9 for my avy, i can transform this stock engine in a stroker?

I've seen also bare block 408 stroker
TSP 408 C.I.D. LQ9 Short-Block

Great pricing difference, can be explainable with the quality?

I'm lost like Frodon in Mordor Plains

Thank you Guy's

There is no real definition of stage 1 and stage 2 other than stage 2 should perform better. It's just a marketing thing.

I can't look at the link you provide because I'm behind a firewall, but those cheap e-bay kits are usually just that... cheap. Beware of inferior parts.

When you stroke an engine, basically you're putting in a longer stroke crankshaft (and pistons with the correct wrist pin height to match). The advantage is more displacement and more horsepower/torque. Larger engines have more potential for performance.

Ok, I was finally able to look at that eBay link. Those kits are for the old school small block 350 engines, not the newer Vortec/LS engines.

making an engine a stroker simply means that the pistons will travel further down into the block of the engine. You inscrease the stroke of the piston and therefore the displacement. For example a stroker turns a 6.0 into a 6.6 (364ci into a 402ci, or 408ci if you bore it as well). Increasing the stroke of an engine generally makes it more torquey.

The stage x kits are kind of silly... i dont see many GM performance packages like that because people who modify generally know more about it and pick parts that are tailored specifically to them. I find thats more common terminology with fords, and most euro/jap tuner companies.

Great, is most clearer now
But i think my major problem i'can't choose my way, i'know it exist more and more combination.
The 2 thing i'm sure are hp gain and conserve a dayli driver truck.
Lq9 with ported heads, headers, cam etc or an lq9 stroker kit...

I bought some books, how to build gm ls series. but i never read how to know if kinds of parts fits with others, ex: head from ls1 fits with a 408 etc..
You impress me, how you know all?
you are born to make HP lol
Thank you so much
