Just saw the concept SSR at the TX state fair. Speedo on that one went to 160. I think its looks could grow on me, but it will be too small for me I think. A buddy at a dealership says sticker on them should be around $40K, but I can't vouch for his information.

Personally, I think all this retro **** needs to go away. It takes the shape of a lifted El Camino to me. As for the alleged aluminum 5.3 block, I have been hearing rumors of its existance too. But then again, I have been hearing rumors of an aluminum 6.0 that the C6 may be using. IMO, GM has the worse team of exterior designers out there. If it doesn't look like a brick (Avalanche, Caddy, New trucks...) It's either retro or riced. I guess, I'm just still not use to the "new style". 4 and 3 and 2 and 1 and when I'm on the mic the suckus run....

Yes, it's true I have lost my mind.

Careful Greg, your current truck is now retro since its the old bodystyle now lol.

I like the SSR, and I applaud GM for developing a modern day hotrod. It shows that there IS some creativity coming out in a world of cookie-cutter vehicles. Now, if they would just come out with a new F-body that looked like my old 69 Camaro....

That truck will be far far from a "hotrod". Truth is, they won't have a truck reach the "hotrod" status until they build something that will give SVT and the alleged Dodge V-10 a run for the money.

When I say retro, I mean new styling trends with base style from the 50's/60's. Aww hell forget it I just think they look funny. Somebody photoshop one lowered a little and then it might look good IMO. But "hotrod"........ it aint'. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

When MTI gets ahold of one, your opinion will change on them not being a hotrod. 422ci will be plenty to hand that overweight Dodge and Lightning their asses on a platter. The SSR is based on a midsize platform.

Drop it, put some aftermarket wheels on it, a custom paint job, and a BIG motor with nitrous. Alot of potential!
