comp cams 218 (all nelson told me)
918s w/ new pushrods
pacesetter LTs
NELSON TUNE
TT3000 stall
TR5/TR6 plugs and MSD 8.5 wires
eaton posi w/ 3.73
Trans go HD shift kit
E-fans and nelson harness
Some sorta intake (e-bay k&n?)
i was thinking of some extras like maybe some roller rockers
and Pacesetters ory pipe.
found some mad looking vavle covers from NastyPerformance.com
fabricated aluminum type with billet coil brakets
yall think of anything missing (besides the radix)??? also is this gonna whip an R/T dakota with only a PCM (mopar stage 3)?? it is an ecsb like mine, with 3.90s. everyone one here has a different list, what do i need?? and what am i gonna wish i had (besides the radix that i cant do, it will violate the N/A rule of our local group) HELP ME.
aahhh yess. in october when i cream this Dakota, in temple tx right off i35 60-70 miles north of austin... i will be hosting OPEN BAR in a party for coming home from iraq. And scoring the first kill of the mopar. wanna go lemme know. FREE BEER!!!!!!!!!!!

You are missing heads on that list go with a nice set of stage 1.5 5.3 heads, mill them around .040 and that cam is too small for really yielding gains from a full NA 5.3 setup Id go at least with somethin like TR 224. Nice heads that cam and full exhaust no cats! should put you well into the 13's with the right tuning and some traction. I would get Nelson to do the tuning in person.

I have been swapping emails with nelson, but i think he believes i am pulling his leg. i dont have access to a phone so it is hard to contact him, and he aint answered anymore of my mails. who knows... in all reality i have about 5K to work with, and i WANT to keep the 5.3. but i dont want s/c or turbo, to keep in line with the "rules". nelson picked that cam when that was ALL i wanted, but now with my fu%$ it attitude twords the budget... i need to discuss things a little more. What are the 1.5 5.3 heads, and who could mill them?? what kinda price is that gonna run? yeah, i plan on doing everything thru nelson, including install on whatever he can. what would a decent price be on a little 100 shot? this needs to be reliable too, this is my only ride. the Pacesetters are for sure, along with a 3000 stall and shift kit. nelson tune(in person) cam and springs= guaranteed, only reason i even thought pushrods is cause nelson said so. also, who does tb porting? i need a solid COMPLETE setup, that wont go over 5Gs and Get me in the mid low 13s. at a minimum terminate a R/T with extreme predjudice.

the reason nelson thinks youre pulling his chain is because most people arent nuts enough to drop $5000 on 100-150 hp. take it slow...do all the supporting mods like intake, exhaust, e-fans, bolt on little stuff like that... get all that **** done, and then call up nelson and tell him you're gonna do a cam and ask for recommendatons. do all the small stuff first before you start talking about tearing into the engine. you'll whip a dakota with just a few bolt-ons. no need for a cam if a dakota is youre target. take it easy...save some money for something else. i bet you would be satisfied with just cam package, tune, intake, exhaust setup, stall. unless you can do tranny work yourself...dont do the hd shift kit. around here it costs around 600 installed. not worth it. dont do valve covers. e-fans are kinda pricey if you go the flexalite route. gears and posi are really pricey too. save that for last if you still arent satisfied. just intake, exhaust, stall, cam...you could probably be out the door under $2500. go blow $2500 somewhere else. just my 2 cents.

I was in your shoes about 8 months ago, Jerome is right take the time do the cheaper bolt ons first then if still not satisfied break into the engine. My 5.3 setup cost me around 4 grand for full exhaust head work cam stall shift kit hp tuners and of course mistakes. I just ran an 8.8 1/8 @ 78 mph in an NA ext cab z71 that would put me in the 13's. There are alot of FI guys out there in the same truck that run those numbers I dont think FI is the end all be all. Yes you have the potential for alot more HP but in the end it will cost you more money. You can still get some impressive numbers out of an NA scsb truck, look at rider who is runnin low 13's NA. Do the tranny and the bolt ons, with full exhaust. Then like Jerome said start looking at something like WCCH heads and a nice cam by then you will have the knowledge to make the right choice.
I was anxious and dove right into my setup, mistake I should have waited and ported my heads.

Nothing wrong with a 5.3. You'll just get more bang for your buck with a radix or an STS. If that isn't enough, then step it up.
F8L went 12.35 with a 5.3.
