The iridium plugs should come pre-gapped, I believe it is .040 or .045...but you shouldn't have to touch them. Do a search for "spark plug gap", I posted the exact specs before....

as a matter of fact, I've heard that you should not even attempt to gap irr tipped plugs

do not gap them, do not even check them unless it looks like it was dropped, then get a new one. The iridium will scratch off super easy with your gapper.

They can be gapped, but not in the conventional way...you can not pry against the electrode, or you will definitely snap the iridium tip off. The ground must be grabbed by itself, like with a pair of needlenose pliers. They can be checked also, but you must be very careful. As mentioned though, they come pre-gapped so it's really not worth it.

the oem ac delco iridium plugs are pre gapped to .040".....FWIW, iridium is the strongest metal there is used on spark plugs hence the tighter gap (.040") vs a standard copper plug in the same engine to be set at .060" due to the fact that the softer metal will wear extreamly fast

i replaced my plugs today because i took the procharger off on tuesday. well i bought the acdelco iridium plugs. but i did gap them the correct way without touching the tip. they make a tool for that. but i did gap them at .060 as called for. is this a problem should i pull them and set it back to .040?

The spark plug gap for your truck should be on the sticker on the radiator cover, or in the owners manual. GM had a .040 and a .060 gap measurement in various years.
