Default spark plug ??

i just got the ngk-tr55 today. i am ready to put them in but what should i gap them at? should i leave them the way they are?

they seem to be gapped at .055 right now. i thought someone said to gap them at .035 but that seems to small a gap. bumping the computer program to be using 93 oct i would think that you would want a big gap.

My stock plugs were gapped at 60. I have used 2 sets of NGK TR55 plugs, both came gapped at 57. Thats were I left them. No problems.

Hey Phatchevy, i put some on my truck a few days ago, i left them at .55 and my truck is running just fine. good luck putting them on, the plug closest to the firewall on the pasenger side is a bitch to get out, just to let you know.

The .055" gap is OK. If someone said to gap them at .035 " they were probably refering to a FI or Nitrous application.

Yep #8 is a tough one to get out. I put a socket on the plug then a shallow socket onto the end of it to get it off. I suppose a swivel wratchet would also work but that was easiest for me.

thanks for the help. i put them in and i think i noticed a difference. i have about 48,000 miles on my truck and maybe the old plugs were just (old).

i was just wondering about the stock plugs. i checked out the gapping on them and i had some that were gapped at .067, .06, .057,.063. maybe a couple were the same but they all varied. is that bad?

yeah the #8 was bitch. i did that one last.
