Spare rim width, same as the nice stock ones?

I am currently running 26x11.50 ET streets on stock aluminum rims (16x7). I cut a best short time of 1.67 with 24# in them this past sunday on a decently prepped track. I did have a set of 26x10.50 on there before and they did look to fit the rim better.

On a side note, I noticed that in Summit's maganzine, they list their BF Goodrich T/A Drag Radials in one 16" size only, the P255/50R-16. Is this what I'm looking for? I was going to go with Summit because they can get them here by Friday. I need these suckers by Saturday at the latest.
I also noticed that they say the Mickey Thompson ET street tire(26x10.5-16) requires tubes to run. I don't know if I want a tubed setup or not. Do any of you run these tires? Whichever way I go, I have to get these things on the way tonight!!!

little off topic but im looking into getting a local shop to use two stock steel wheels to make one wider one...an old super chevy or CHP had a red RCSB with a side mount magnacharger it was built by LPE anyone remember that truck? anyway they did it on that truck...anyone know how safe this is? and how well it would work ?i figure its steel so it should be able to be welded and trued to a nice looking functional rim thats wide enough for a real slick or DR....
